We are taking over, we are the future.
Back at it.
Cause you know, that’s something you should be aware of. I’m not gonna lie. I hate PHP. Like everyone else is currently hating on Flash. I’m hating on PHP. I feel Flash shouldn’t be the only thing getting useless hate. I’m working out a method to switch a variable so that directories can change. I mean, I can change the directory, but that would require these scripts to live in that directory as well. And that’s just stupid. I’m not doing any MySQL. Keeping this dead simple for the end user, which means I have to flex parts of my brain I don’t normally flex. I’d much rather be doing something with jQuery or Processing. Or even Openframeworks. Or Actionscript. Not PHP. Oh well. I’m back on track, and got my PHP-fu going again. So I’ve just got to work through this one little issue I’m having and it’s good to go. Anyway all the best. PS, if you haven’t played Mass Effect I strongly recommend it.
Cheers,
Derek.

you’re alive, derek
the only thing i know a bit is xhtml/css, i’ve read/heard that ruby on rails is supposed to be quite nice.
i’m just saying, dunno nothing about php…
ps, if you haven’t played team fortress 2 yet, go get it, it’s the only game that kept my attention over the 2 yrs its been released.
Rails is nice. A bit difficult to set up a Rails based app if your not a big web nerd.
I love the team fortress games. They’re super fun. I’d have to say the only games that can hold my attention so far (on a console) have been Fallout 3 and Mass Effect 1&2. Most other games I’ll play with my flatmate. Resident Evil usually holds me over for about 2 weeks. Old school PC RPGs usually kept me happy. Same with Diablo/Warcraft/Starcraft. But that was when I was a kid.
My ability to play games has gone out the window and has been replaced by arthritis and repetitive strain injuries. Leaves me with more time to design and develop I guess.
me again, wanted to share 2 cms’ w/ you/the world. do you know stacey, http://www.staceyapp.com/ ?
i dislike their ‘simple’ philosophy, it’s just easier to edit everything over a web interface, the need for a ftp application is so ’90s.
the other one is berta, http://berta.hungry.lv/
a very sweet combination between core’s not very intuitive customization over the interface and indexhibit’s simplicity.
you can tag your work, use a wysiwyg editor, drop a bunch of images to the uploader, edit css… pure awesomeness!
the things berta lacks, are a community and more gallery formats.
i’m currently playing w/ it and may transfer my site to it.
CHECK IT OUT!
indexhibit announced a that there soon will be a new version…
good luck developing your vision!
ps. tried mass effect 1, couldn’t play it, i just don’t like rpg’s.
